Biking

Brian and I went biking on a trail not too far from our house. I haven't been on our bikes in about a year, so it was great getting back out there. Don't worry I was careful!!! I could definitely tell that my lungs aren't working like they used to though!

Here's a picture of a little project I did the other day. It was really easy, but I'm not sure if I really like it. So far this is the only baby decorating we've done so far!!! Yikes! We're waiting because we need to finish the bedroom in our basement so we can move the guest room down there and have the nursery up on the main floor with us. Hopefully we'll get that done one of these coming weekends!!

My Trip To Washington

I had such a great time visiting Alyssa and her girls in Washington this past week. The weather was beautiful and we were able to do a lot of things outside while I was there. We went to a couple different parks and had a few picnics. One picnic was in their front yard and was ended because the sprinklers came on. We all thought that was really funny, especially the girls!

Here's little miss Avery smelling a flower!!

This is Kinsey being her funny little self.

Playing chase!

Just the older girls went out for a few hours to shop and eat at this awesome restaurant called, "Katie Downs Tavern". We were able to find a table out by the water in the sun and had some awesome pizza!!!

The trip was great, I'm really glad I was able to go! It was nice to be able to just hang out with a great friend!!!

It's a......

This was the card that I made for the doctor to mark if it was a boy or girl so we could find out for ourselves at dinner instead of in the doctor office. Inside the little box she wrote "90%". She's 90% sure that it's a girl. I have my true anatomical ultrasound in two weeks. Brian and I are both very excited! (And yes, I did see that I put the comma in the wrong spot on the front of the card...I'll go back and fix that sometime!)

Landscaping and Baby Update

First I wanted to show off our new landscaping. It's finally all finished!! If you didn't know, when we moved in we had nothing but weeds and some grass growing in our yard and that was it. No trees, no flowers...nothing. So here's what it looks like now:

This is part of the back yard. There is this stone stair case that you can see in the middle of all the little rocks. In the very back they are finishing up that drainage ditch. They're going to lay sod and put some nice river rock back there to spruce it up.

Now for the baby update! Well I had my 20 week appointment today thinking I would be able to find out the sex of our baby. Apparently I was supposed to schedule a different appointment on a different floor of the hospital to get the gender/anatomical scan. The doctor I had at my 16 week appointment was supposed to put a referral in for that and let me know that that was what I was supposed to do, but he never informed us of this.

However, the doctor (actually midwife) that I had today was very sweet and I really really liked her. She told me that she would try to get me into the smaller ultrasound room that they had on the OB floor and she would look for us. We got in right away and we were able to see our little one moving around like crazy!! Our little one looks very healthy and she said that he/she is very tall looking. She also mentioned that the umbilical cord is very thick and healthy! We got some really good shots (I'll try to scan them and put them up later!).

When she started to look for the sex, Brian and I turned away. She kept it a secret from us (because that is what we had asked) and wrote in a card that I had made. We sealed it up and are going to dinner tonight to celebrate and find out the sex. I stole this idea from a friend (Alyssa I believe, but I'm not quite sure). We're going to try to hold out until dessert to find out. We'll have our server bring out a cheesecake if it's a girl and a brownie sundae if it's a boy. But who knows...maybe I'll change my mind as to what dessert I want when dinner time comes around! Now the midwife informed us that she wasn't 100% sure and to keep our receipts if we buy anything gender specific. But we're still excited to find out. I do have my gender/anatomical scan July 19th to find out for sure. We can't wait!
