Change of Command and Father's Day!

Brian is officially done being the company commander of the IACH Medical Company here at Ft. Riley! He returned from Airborne School (which he graduated) and had one week left as the company commander. He says it's a bittersweet time for him. He enjoyed his command time but he's also looking forward to becoming 4th Brigade's Physical Therapist and deploying sometime next year. I'm excited to have him back where we don't have to worry about him having to go in to deal with some issue late at night or on the weekends! Here's a picture at his farewell. His 1st Sergeant was awesome! He's the one shaking Brian's hand.

Here's a picture of Brian giving his speech at the Change of Command. I didn't get very many pictures because Kailyn decided to be a little fussy. I don't blame her though, it was really hot outside that day!

And lastly here are a few pictures from today, Brian's first Father's Day! Kailyn is so blessed to have such a wonderful dad. He'll be someone that she can always count on and look up to! It's so much fun to see them interact with one another!

And this last one is just a funny picture! Kailyn is definitely teething. I hope they pop through very soon for her. We leave tomorrow for Las Vegas so I hope they don't bother her too much on the plane.

I hope everyone had a happy Father's Day! It is now time to go pack for our vacation!

This past week

We've had a busy week. My mom came down for a few days. It was helpful to have her here and we had so much fun. Kailyn has now tried sweet potatoes, carrots and avocado.

Yummm....carrots and toes!

Not a fan of the avocado!

Had a play date with a little girl named, Mya. She's the daughter of a friend of mine from the high school I worked at last year. She was born 3 weeks before Kailyn. She's 14 lbs. and Kailyn is 19 lbs!!

Also had a play date with our neighbor, Ariana.

This time Kailyn seemed to enjoy the swing so much more!

We went to the zoo here in town with my mom. It's not very big, but that's perfect because we were able to see the whole thing before Kailyn was ready for her next nap. It's also very shaded!

Kailyn seemed a little more interested this time in comparison to our visit to the Omaha zoo.

My mom bought Kailyn a little pool. We have it set up behind the house which gets shade in the late afternoon. She loves the water!

Eating Sweet Potatoes

This is a video of Kailyn eating sweet potatoes. This is the third time she's had them. I made a batch a few weeks ago and froze the remaining in ice cube trays. The first two times didn't go over as well. But she's finally getting the hang of it and she likes it!!
